La Danse du Do – Vertical Print

Some memories never really leave us, they just wait for the right note to be played.

This illustration was born from one of those memories. As a child, I was learning piano and how to read sheet music. My teacher taught me that the note C wasn’t a symbol on a page, but a tiny character with a hat, standing proudly on the staff, ready to leap into song.

In an alternate universe where keys are civilizations and where staffs are paths, the notes dance.

In this artwork, I represent the note C dancing on the five-line staff, jumping from one key to the next, and creating new harmonies. Music forms its own dreamy landscape where anything is possible.

Designed for people who collect visual stories, this piece is a tribute to music, but also to creativity, imagination and freedom.
